Rain, rain, rain!!!

So we are finally getting some well-deserved rainfall! The water levels in California have been pathetically low and living close to a large reservoir, Lake Oroville, it has been very obvious when you drive by the lake! From what I have found on-line, the lake has only been at about 30% of its capacity this past year. How horrible is that?

So with the current "storms" we have had rain just about daily in really wierd patterns. For example, yesterday we had some torrential rains scattered throughout the day, where we looked out the window and it just looked white outside because of the sheets of rain. However today was partially sunny this morning, I saw a beautiful rainbow in the afternoon (damn I wish I had my camera!!) and now we have rain that is beating against the windows. Random patterns!

I hope that all of this rain helps fill our reservoirs to a decent level and help out with the drought issues. I know that I am glad for our own garden and lawn that it is raining so that it starts looking green vs brown. Hopefully the rain is also helping out the farmers too!
